situation

Having considered a number of options, Housing 21 made the decision to dispose of a family housing portfolio which no longer strategically fit its’ business model going forward.  They required an advisor to work with them in a two year stock rationalisation programme and provide guidance at every stage of the disposal process.

brief

JLL was required to market and sell a portfolio of over 230 homes within a tight time scale.  The wide geographical spread of the properties led to a disposal process involving several separate tranches of stock and requiring a comprehensive knowledge of the UK housing market.

The key considerations for Housing 21 and JLL were that key stakeholders and residents were impressed by the process; and the best value for the stock was realised.

outcome

JLL was able to identify suitable buyers for all stock and the final capital receipts were well above valuation.
