The JLL Q4 2024 Prime Central London Report tracks activity across the central London housing market. The report incorporates the results of our quarterly JLL Prime Central London Index.

While higher mortgage rates and uncertainty, particularly relating to the  fortunes of the domestic and global economy, has held the market back over the last 12 months, activity levels across Prime Central London were still higher in 2024 than a year prior. The lower end of the market benefitted from more competitive rates, particularly earlier on in the year, while prices at the top end of the market have remained robust.

In the lettings market, we saw a calmer market emerge throughout 2024, with greater balance between rents and tenant demand. At the end of the year, average rents across Prime Central London were 0.4% higher than at the end of 2023.
